The celebration is centered around the creation of large ninots (puppets) and monuments made of wood, paper mache, and cardboard. The ninots are often satirical in nature and depict political and social figures, as well as animals and plants.
On the final night of the celebration these ninots are all burned in a grand firework display. The Fallas of Valencia is a spectacular display of creativity and artistry that has been celebrated for centuries.
